If you like to travel and see the world then you probably understand just how important it is to get your directions right. You know just how frustrating it is to get directions by asking people around. Mostly you are given the wrong direction and have to walk or drive for miles before you get to your destination. You may decide to take paper maps but not everyone is good at reading paper maps. The Google Maps Android apps solves this problem by giving you turn by turn directions for free.
This apps is an improvement on the Google maps and is available on Android phones. Among the things this apps does is providing you with 2D satellite, calculation of route distances, traffic updates as well as walking directions. If you want to receive turn by turn destination guide through voice then you have to download that separately. Google Maps Android apps is definitely one of the most useful programs ever created.
Pros
I liked the fact that this app gives the user turn by turn directions. The in built maps by google provide you with a very accurate street view. You also have the choice of getting destination guides through a voice as well as business updates enroute. I found the Google Maps Android apps very useful when trying to navigate through complicated intersections.
Cons
The one thing I found annoying with this app is that it tends to take you along a longer route and may sometimes give you the wrong direction all together. You have to know that this app is also not available all over the world as yet. The other strong criticism I have of the Google Maps Android apps is that to use it effectively, you need a very strong data connection which may not always be available.
