Today I spotted a new search option on Google – “Applications”. Not sure if I’ve been blind or this is a completely new option in the “More” section.
When clicking on the new apps search filter users are taken to application listings such as this one:

One interesting thing is that the new search filter doesn’t only show apps alone. It will also display any information page found to be of key relevance to the searched app.
In the example above we see two results from download.cnet.com selected as a key match for the Budget Direct app.
So far I’ve seen results from the following domains (in order of strength):
Google’s app search also includes browser plugins and extensions:

I’d love to hear from those who are currently actively promoting an app to find our more about their experiences.
